Established in Golden, BC, the Stolen Bell Distillery was built with a clear purpose: to produce craft spirits that celebrate the stories which define our cherished region. Our cocktail lounge and kitchen have extended that mission to providing a unique space for more stories to be made.

In particular, our founding story speaks to the determination and grit that completed the Rogers Pass, connecting not just a railway, but a country. With respect for the past and an eye on the future, we handcraft spirits that capture the essence of our community.

Rupert Michell

Founder Rupert Michell turned his passion for skiing and good food into a thriving distillery in Golden, BC, where he leads product development and creates unforgettable guest experiences.

Evan Cronshaw

Evan Cronshaw, Stolen Bell’s Head Distiller, combines 15 years of brewing expertise with a creative approach to crafting spirits inspired by his love of cooking, baking, and beer brewing.

Jorrit Schuurman

Chef Jorrit Schuurman's passion for food has taken him from the kitchens of the Netherlands, Australia, and Norway to the heart of Golden. Jorrit brings a world of experience and creativity to our tables, with dishes that complement the cocktail offering beautifully. He's all about simple dishes, elevated with international flavours and sourcing amazing local ingredients.

Laura Hill

Drawn to Golden's strong sense of adventure and community, Laura joined Stolen Bell to help grow the brand through sales, marketing, events, and partnerships. Whether she's planning a launch, working with wholesale clients, or sharing stories through social media, she's passionate about creating genuine connections and memorable experiences. She takes pride in showcasing the people, products, and local character that make Stolen Bell unique.

Steph Thornton

Steph Thornton brings her extensive hospitality experience to Stolen Bell Distillery, where she manages the cocktail lounge with a passion for creating welcoming spaces that connect the Golden, BC community.

Wesley Routley

Golden local Wesley Routley ensures Stolen Bell’s success through expert systems management, regulatory compliance, and reporting. Besides just loving the region and exploring it on a bike or crosscountry skis, Wes brings a maths background and passion for circular economies to the company.
